Ron Sisson

Ron SissonRon Sisson, our new Executive Director, began with us on August 6th  2012 and has been busy since then acclimating himself to our Clinic, staff, tribal members and community.

Born and raised in California, Ron is a member of the Wintu Tribe of Northern California.  Having raised his family, he was looking forward to moving to Santa Barbara County when our position became available.  Throughout the course of his 30 year career, Ron has been a supervisor, manager or director in some capacity.  He comes to us with over 20 years’ experience working in the Native American health care.  He began working with a federally-recognized Tribe located in Northern California in 1990, and helped them initiate their 638 health care contract, and utilized his extensive private sector experience in Information Technology to design, build and implement their internal and external computerized network systems.  Ron’s health care expertise extends to Contract Health Care, Third Party Billing, and Self-Governance Compacting to name just a few.  He was the Senior Director of Health Care Services up North for seven years before coming to our Clinic.

Ron feels that he has already made a connection with our tribe and indicates “I like being in a position where I can utilize my skills and knowledge to help Native Americans improve their healthcare.  The open communication between the tribal members, community, and staff has made this process a smooth transition.”
